ATK announce new North American lineup
South African organization, ATK have announced three new additions to their lineup this morning, following the departures of Jonathan "b0denmaster" Bodenmalm and Jonathan "djay" Dallal. The departure spurred controversy across the North American and South African scenes as djay accused the organization as a result of "late payments, zero payments, [and] bad faith contract negotiations". A full interview with ATK owner Warren Barkhuizen is coming shortly.
The official additions of Adam "WolfY" Andersson, Jonathan "jonji" Carey, and Ethan "reck" Serrano comes after the latter two have been playing with the main team for some time and a Dust2.us report confirmed the additions with short-term contracts. The addition of WolfY comes as the Swedish-American AWPer heads home from a journey in Sweden where he has been for the last two years.
During djay's time with ATK, he struggled for form, despite the team continuing to keep afloat at the top of the domestic competition. The former EG White rifler put up a 0.91 rating while on ATK, which is a decline from his 1.10 rating while on the former Blueprint squad.
WolfY comes back to the United States after spending time on ECSTATIC and fnatic Rising, which recently closed due to financial constraints. The AWPer has spent considerable time in North America before and will be a welcome addition back to the region that could use some European influence.
As of now, the only international influence left on ATK is in the form of Gareth "MisteM" Ries. The South African was part of the team that came back to the NA region just before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The roster at the time even featured now turned VALORANT superstar Tyson "TenZ" Ngo.
