LOS + oNe to miss ECL
In a message sent out to teams this afternoon, ESL Challenger League admin Zyrus "Osodank" Bechstein confirmed that Brazilian squad LOS + oNe will not be able to participate in ESL Challenger League Season 45. In the message, Osodank announced that visa issues left the team without a complete roster to contest the season.
Missing out on NA's top-level domestic competition comes as a massive blow to the organization after 17 seasons and nearly five years in North America.
When LOS + oNe, then known as oNe, came to North America in 2018 they quickly established themselves as a top émigré squad in region, winning two seasons of Premier outright and being a consistent squad in playoffs. More recently, however, the squad has struggled to find a winning formula even after merging with Los Grandes in 2022. Notably, the team has become something of a revolving door for coaches, recently parting ways with Luis "peacemaker" Tadeu after only two months.
Additionally, LOS + oNe recently bombed out of the BLAST.tv Paris Major Americas RMR, only winning nine rounds over the course of two maps. This result led to LOS + oNe cutting Victor "iDk" Torraca and benching Matheus "pesadelo" Panisset, leaving the squad with three active members.
Dust2.us understands that with the season already underway, LOS + oNe will not be replaced in ECL Season 45, with every team receiving a forfeit win in their stead.
It's unknown at this time what the future holds for LOS + oNe. With visa issues holding up players from staying at the team house in Las Vegas, Nevada it is entirely possible that the squad might relocate to Brazil.
