Complexity qualify for Paris
Complexity dispatched MIBR to secure their ticket to the BLAST Paris Major, with a smooth 2-0 victory over their Brazilian foes. It marks the first Major AWPer Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli has ever attended and just the second for the rest of the squad.
Complexity might have fallen short against Brazil's in-form team in paiN, but they squashed the demons of the past as they beat Imperial (who had knocked Complexity out of the Rio RMR) to set up a qualification match against another Brazilian side in MIBR.
Map one would be Inferno, MIBR's pick, and it wouldn't even be close. Complexity raced into an 8-0 lead and the Brazilians managed just two rounds in the half to leave them 13-2 down. Complexity have sometimes had trouble closing out maps but the NA side were in fine form as they dropped just four more rounds to secure map one easily, 16-6.
Moving into map two, Nuke, with supreme confidence the Complexity side stuttered slightly early on as they found themselves 4-2 down. However, the team rallied and put together a dominant attacking display as they strung together eight rounds on the trot to take a 10-5 lead over the Brazilian side. A massive force buy win from Justin "FaNg" Coakley and Ricky "floppy" Kemery helped the team to within three rounds of a huge victory.
MIBR began to close the gap as they reached double digits to put themselves just three rounds behind their American opponents on 13-10. A big three kills from Michael "Grim" Wince helped Complexity wrestle back control of the map as they put themselves just two rounds away from qualification.
Complexity finally got it over the line thanks to a massive ramp hold from floppy, closing the match out 16-12 and securing their spot in Paris.
