neptune looks to grow with Swole Patrol
Jason "neptune" Tran has linked up with Swole Patrol in place of Gage "Infinite" Green for the DreamHack Masters Malmö open qualifier. Dust2.us knows that neptune has been on the team's radar for a while, and recently began to tryout with the roster.
Swole Patrol have been in search of a fifth amid the rumored departure of Infinite, with the player most recently being linked to a new North American project alongside Joshua "steel" Nissan. The team were released by Lazarus at the end of August, and currently retain a spot in ESL Pro League for Season 10.
neptune linked up with Peeker's Advantage shortly before the start of the league season, replacing Daniel "roca" Gustaferri on the roster. At the time, the 16-year-old told Dust2.us that he had joined the team in an effort to "stay warm" following Ghost releasing their active roster a month prior.
When contacted by Dust2.us, Swole Patrol's coach Danny "fRoD" Montaner informed us that the reasoning for the change was "a long story", with the team looking towards adding neptune after doing tryouts. He also alluded towards the previously mentioned Chaos roster that is in the works, indicating that they were forced to make a change as Infinite "wants to do that project with steel." fRoD also told us that neptune is likely going to finalize their roster, saying that "odds are we’re gonna go with Jason going forward."
Swole Patrol's roster for the DreamHack Masters Malmö qualifier is:
- Braxton "swag" Pierce
- Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker
- Yassine "Subroza" Taoufik
- Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro
- Jason "neptune" Tran
- Danny "fRoD" Montaner (Coach)
The team are currently competing in the DreamHack Masters Malmö open qualifier, with their round of 16 matchup against nTice kicking off at 8 PM EDT.
