Not a lot of smiles today for Zellsis & co.

Lazarus release team; Zellsis and fRoD respond

The Canadian organization will be withdrawing from CS:GO to focus on their "core strengths".

Earlier today, Lazarus announced that they have released their CS:GO squad with immediate effect.

The Canadian organization, formerly known as SetToDestroyX, mentioned that dropping the ESL Pro League side will allow them to focus on "other core strengths".

The team finished last in their group during their sole LAN outting at ESL Pro League Season 9, but managed to retain their spot in the league by surviving Relegation. For now, it is expected that the team will stay together, return to their old moniker of Swole Patrol, and also retain their EPL spot.

Swole Patrol are:

  • United States  Braxton "swag" Pierce
  • United States Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker
  • Canada  Yassine "Subroza" Taoufik
  • United States  Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro
  • United States  Gage "Infinite" Green
  • United States  Danny "fRoD" Montaner (Coach)

Former Cloud9 mem[b]er Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro took to Twitter following the announcement to share the following:

Coach Danny "fRoD" Montaner shed a bit more light on the situation in a statement to Dust2.us:

[Lazarus] are doubling down on Fortnite and they just can't support a CS team, probably shouldn't have gotten into it in the first place. This is a blessing in disguise for us as we're better off solo and looking for an organization to support us properly rather than just getting salaries. We don't play this for the money and we wanna just focus on winning and improving without hurdles from an organization.

As previously mentioned, the team have ESL Pro League Season 10 Americas to look forward to, as well as the ECS Season 8 Pinnacle Cup, which will commence on September 10th.
