Twistzz could become the undisputed GOAT of NA tomorrow

Twistzz looks to make history with incredible achievement

The Canadian is looking to claim an achievement that may never be replicated.

After 479 days, a new champion of the Intel Grand Slam circuit is potentially set to be crowned as FaZe take on Cloud9 in the grand finals of ESL Pro League Season 17. With that, Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken is set to potentially achieve something incredible, a second Intel Grand Slam title after previously winning Intel Grand Slam Season 2 with Liquid in 2019.

As a reminder, during his time on Liquid, Twistzz and co. won Intel Grand Season 2 in an unprecedented fashion, claiming the title in a mere 63 days after winning four events back-to-back — IEM Sydney, DreamHack Masters Dallas, ESL Pro League Season 9, and IEM Cologne.

Twistzz claimed the $1,000,000 Intel Grand Slam Season 2 prize with Liquid in only 63 days

With FaZe, Twistzz's road to claiming his second Intel Grand Slam has been a fair bit more arduous as FaZe won their last title at IEM Cologne 2022 eight months ago. Since then, the team has struggled to reclaim their amazing form from those days, but seems closer than ever with a fantastic Pro League run.

Cloud9 also have a chance to make history today as well as should they take down FaZe, they would be the first team ever to claim a spoiler bonus, netting the Russian-Kazakh squad an extra $100,000. The historic best of five will kick off at 10:00AM.
