Sean will look to put his past CS:GO experiences to use as an advisor for the CSPPA

seang@res joins CSPPA as player advisor

After initially helping to establish the player association with a push back against the PEA, seang@res has assumed a permanent role with the organization.

The Counter-Strike Professional Players' Association have acquired the services of former Cloud9 in-game leader Sean "seang@res" Gares, bringing on the retired pro as a player advisor. Presumably, seang@res will continue his work as an analyst on broadcasts alongside his new role with the CSPPA, with the former player currently attending the StarLadder Major in Berlin.

Scott "SirScoots" Smith, one of the player union's advisors, welcomed the addition of seang@res, pointing towards the player being one of the primary forces in pushing back against the PEA, leading to the original formation of the CSPPA. The player union has already proved crucial in helping establish communication with Valve, leading to the announcement of the dates for Majors in 2020 and 2021, as well as setting dates for the yearly August player break.

seang@res is set to work alongside Michael Døi, a legal advisor, and Mads Øland, the CEO of the Danish Elite Athletes Association. He'll also participate in discussions with the CSPPA board of players, consisting of a number of notable names, including seang@res' former teammate Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert.

The complete CSPPA team is now:

  • Denmark Mads Øland - CEO
  • United States Scott "SirScoots" Smith - Advisor
  • Denmark Michael Døi - Legal Advisor
  • United States Sean "seang@res" Gares - Player Advisor

    Board of Players:
  • Denmark Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth
  • Brazil Epitacio "TACO" de Melo
  • United States Tarik "tarik" Celik
  • United States Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski
  • United States Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert
  • Chris "chrisJ" de Jong
