paiN get one back

Rooster, the squad that have funded their own bootcamp in Europe, have no sponsors, and are considered one of the biggest underdogs at ESL Pro League, they had to face off against paiN. The Brazilians have always been strong domestically, but so far struggled to replicate their form on the international stage. With a match of somewhat equal strength here today, it is a chance for both squads to find their first win early on at the event.

Starting off on Rooster's pick of Anubis, it looked like trouble from the beginning as paiN took the pistol and jumped out to an incredible 7-1 lead to take control of the match. However, the Oceanic contingent would be clinical in their comeback on T-side and take control of the half by the end, closing it out 8-7.

With paiN now able to play on the offense, they were in control once more by securing the pistol, propelling them to take back the lead which they would never let slip again in the course of the map. The Brazilians would only drop three total rounds in the second half, giving themselves a 16-11 victory over their opponent's pick.

Moving to Nuke, paiN were happy to get to their map pick as they wanted to make quick work of their opponents. The opening for this map was extremely similar to Anubis for paiN, as they jumped out once more to a 7-1 lead, but instead of Rooster coming back to take the lead, paiN would only continue their domination as they secured a 12-3 half.

With the half essentially over, paiN secured a flawless pistol win that would propel them to a 16-4 victory.

paiN are now looking to play the loser of OG and Vitality, which will be found later today when those two European giants play at 10:00AM.
