Nouns are taking a trip to Dallas
Nouns managed a convincing upper-bracket run to secure themselves a place in IEM Dallas alongside Liquid, Complexity, and local heroes Evil Geniuses.
In the grand finals, Nouns beat LOS + oNe 2-0 in a very exciting series that could have gone both ways and could have seen a third map being played.
After beating Vendetta 2-1 to open the closed qualifier, Nouns faced off against LOS + oNe in the upper bracket final, where they would beat the Brazilians also 2-1. While Nouns took their break after winning in the upper bracket, Pedro "Maluk3" Campos and co. battled against Vendetta to see who would face Nouns in the finals. Meanwhile, Strife had already been eliminated after falling early to the Brazilians and then to Vendetta.
In the end, Vendetta couldn't take a map off of LOS + oNe despite getting close both times. The rematch between Nouns and the Las Vegas-based organizations was set. The maps would be Nuke, Inferno, and Mirage if needed. The first half of Nuke saw LOS + oNe taking a commanding T-side lead of 9-6, but Nouns managed to do better and turned the score in their favor 16-13. Inferno saw another great offensive effort from Nouns, leading 10-5 at the half, before going to the CT-side. Once there, the team slacked a bit but was still able to win the map 16-12.
With this win, Nouns are now qualified for IEM Dallas 2023, where they hope to make a good impression in front of North American fans. IEM Dallas will start on the 29th of May and will end on June 4th, with everyone vying for a share of the $250,000 prize pool.
