Complexity hit new high
After an astounding run at IEM Katowice which saw Complexity take down names like ENCE, MOUZ, and fnatic, Complexity have been recognized by HLTV and ranked as the number 10 team in the world.
Complexity entered IEM Katowice Play-Ins ranked just inside the top 20, sitting at #19. An initial stumble in the Play-Ins to BIG saw Complexity go a tear, defeating Permitta and shutting down ENCE's Katowice's hopes. Finally, in the main stage, Complexity suffered a bad draw and faced Heroic for their opening match. Complexity managed to take a map off, but lost the series. That would be the only map Heroic would lose until the Grand Final.
Now in the lower bracket, Complexity had a daunting task ahead of them: win three bo3 series against three top 20 teams to enter the Spodek. A triple top-frag from Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli carried Complexity to a win against MOUZ and prevented them from leaving Katowice's main stage winless. Following that, a complete team performance secured victory against an in-form fnatic.
Finally, in the win-or-go-home match against reigning Major Champions Outsiders, the rest of the world managed to put a stop to Complexity's run. It took three maps to close it out, but Complexity left Katowice one step away from the Spodek. Nonetheless, it was an absolutely incredible performance from the North American squad, a performance which has now bolstered them into the top ten of HLTV's rankings.
In addition, Liquid's semifinal appearance and win over FaZe has caused them to overtake FaZe for third place in the world. However, Liquid have been at the summit before, sitting in third place as recently as a few weeks ago. Number ten in the world is a new peak for this iteration of Complexity. The organization has not seen these heights since the best times of the "Juggernaut" iteration. However, unlike the Juggernaut, this NA Complexity is trending up, not down.
