Muenster and ben1337 eject from Party Astronauts
Earlier today Party Astronauts' coach Joseph "Muenster" Lima announced on Twitter that he has elected to step down from the team and will be retiring from competitive CS:GO. This was soon followed by Ben "ben1337" Smith also announcing that he has elected to look for a new home for the upcoming MDL season.
ben1337 was an original member of the Party Astronauts core, joining the team last December when they played under the now-defunct Vireo.pro organization, while Muenster joined the team in late March. During their tenure with the team, Party Astronauts managed to recover from a rocky start to the season and claim a spot in the MDL Season 31 Global Challenge, where they unfortunately fell in last place after losses to Vitality and Singularity. The squad also made the StarLadder Berlin Major Americas Minor Closed Qualifier, but exited the event early after dropping close series to Luminosity and Envy.
In his TwitLonger, Muenster mentioned that he greatly enjoyed his time with Party Astronauts, however real-life commitments have forced him to step away from the game as he looks to find a full-time job and return to school.
As for ben1337, the player told Dust2.us that he enjoyed his time with the team, but in his opinion they were no longer improving, and the combined losses of motm and Muenster pushed him to evaluate his options rather than attempting to rebuild Party Astronauts.
With the loss of Muenster and ben1337, and motm expected to officially exit soon, Party Astronauts has been reduced to:
- Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue
- Brenden "stellar" McGrath
- Robert "robby" Brown
Party Astronauts currently have no matches scheduled at the moment, with the team currently awaiting the start of MDL Season 32.
