Complexity fall to FaZe
After EG's upset win over the current number one team in the world, Heroic, yesterday it was Complexity's turn to carry the flag for NA as they faced off against a FaZe side playing with substitute Patrick "es3tag" Hansen.
The opening map would be Inferno and the first nine rounds followed the script, FaZe ran away into a 9-0 lead and despite a couple of close rounds, it looked like Complexity would struggle to get into the match. However, Complexity managed a minor comeback with five out of the last six rounds to bring the score line to 5-10 at the half.
Despite the late first-half comeback FaZe shutdown the Complexity offense, the international team reached match point before the NA side managed to clinch their first T side round with an impressive 1v3 clutch from Ricky "floppy" Kemery. Inferno finished 16-6 as FaZe closed it out in comfortable fashion, map two would be Overpass and a real chance to see what Complexity can do against a top team on a favored map.
Despite signs of quality on Inferno, even on their own map pick of Overpass, Complexity again took an age to warm into the game. FaZe went 7-0 up before Complexity responded with four rounds of their own on the T side with the half once again finishing 10-5 in favor of the FaZe squad. However, Complexity put up a solid start to their CT side stringing together the opening four rounds.
A close loss in a 3v4 situation ultimately sealed the team's fate as es3tag's 30 bomb helped power FaZe to a 16-9 victory. Complexity will now be looking to face the loser of Liquid vs OG in their next match.
