FURIA bolster coaching staff
Brazilian organization FURIA have announced the addition of Sid "sidde" Macedo as an assistant coach for the squad. This move comes almost two weeks after an initial report on sidde's addition by Dust2 Brasil, and a month after the organization parted ways with Marcos "tacitus" Castilho in mid-December.
sidde makes the step up to FURIA after having previously worked as a coach and assistant coach in the Brazilian domestic scene. His first stint, starting in late 2019, was with Redemption POA until Liberty acquired that lineup in mid-2020. sidde worked on and off with Liberty until October of last year when he made the switch to ODDIK to work as an assistant coach. His time with ODDIK only lasted a brief time, three months to be precise, before he received the call from FURIA.
sidde will have a big test coming up in a matter of weeks, as he will be working alongside Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira and the rest of the squad to prepare FURIA for their 2023 debut at the IEM Katowice Play-In. This will be FURIA's first showing since their semifinal finish at IEM Rio, as their lack of BLAST partnership has kept them out of participating in events such as the BLAST Premier Fall Final and the BLAST Premier Spring Groups.
With the addition of sidde, FURIA's lineup is now:
-
Yuri "yuurih" Santos
-
Andrei "arT" Piovezan
-
Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato
-
André "drop" Abreu
-
Rafael "saffee" Costa
-
Nicholas "guerri" Nogueira (Coach)
-
Sid "sidde" Macedo (Assistant Coach)
FURIA's 2023 season is set to begin in two weeks, when their campaign in the IEM Katowice Play-In kicks off on January 31st.
