NA leaves HLTV Award Show 2022 empty-handed
The HLTV Award Show by 1xbet was a hotly anticipated affair in the Counter-Strike community, with the culmination of 2022's HLTV Top 20 among other awards part of the ceremony in Stockholm. NA was in the running for three categories with Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis short-listed for Opener of the Year, Keith "NAF" Markovic in the running for Anchor of the Year, and CLG Red made the top 3 women's team list.
YEKINDAR and NAF, both Liquid players, ended as runner-ups in their respective categories, as Nikola "NiKo" Kovač won the Opener of the Year and Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy won the Anchor of the Year. YEKINDAR missed out on the win by just three points, being the closest decision of the Panel Awards.
CLG Red finished third in the Women's Team of the Year category, below FURIA and Nigma Galaxy. The Russian squad was crowned the best, after only losing two LAN games during 2022.
Brazil also had three representatives. Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato finished third in the Closer of the Year category, FURIA women's team was runner-up in its category, and Olga "Olga" Rodrigues was the second-best Women's Player of the Year.
