Nerd Street hosts Philly LAN

Next month, teams will have the chance to claim a stake in the $5000 prize pool

From February 10th-12th, up to 32 teams will play a three day event at Localhost Philadelphia hosted by Nerd Street. The rewards are a scaling prize pool, with more money given away the more teams are signed up.

1-4 Teams: $1000
5-10 Teams: $2000
11-20 Teams: $3500
21-32 Teams: $5000

Teams must register a full team of five, with a team ticket costing $350 for normal registration. In addition, if a team would like to bring a coach, that would tack on another $60 for the coach to use a computer, monitor, and peripherals during their games. Hurry quick though, normal registration ends after January 22nd. Late registration extends until the day before the competition, February 9th, but incurs an extra $50 in cost per team.

The format of the event are GSL groups of 4, all bo3s, with the top two teams of every group advancing to playoffs. The playoffs themselves are a bo3 single elimination bracket.

Especially if you don't even get that much for winning. Everybody outside of the top 4 teams probably loses money, even if all 32 teams sign up
