peacemaker closes in on NA-based team
Team oNe + Los have confirmed to Dust2.us and Dust2 Brasil that they are in the closing stages of signing Luis "peacemaker" Tadeu for 2023. The former Imperial coach is set to be signed as a replacement for former coach Joaquin "lokomotioN" Cuevas. peacemaker's addition to LOS + oNe sees the storied coach return to the North American scene for the first time in five years after briefly coaching Sean "sgares" Gares' Misfits lineup in 2017.
The organization tells Dust2.us and Dust2 Brasil that the two parties have agreed on terms but still need to sort out some final details. The addition of peacemaker is oNe's highest-profile coaching signing in their eight-year history, with oNe having previously relied on a number of retired players or coaches from the sub-top of the Brazilian scene. His addition would also hopefully add some cohesion and direction to the lineup, with Pedro "Maluk3" Campos and co. cycling through four coaches over the course of 2022.
A signing of this scale would be unexpected of oNe until recently, with the organization not being known to flash their wallet in the expensive Brazilian scene. However, with oNe's recent merger with Los Grandes, LOS + oNe now seemingly have the room to maneuver and try to catch bigger fish in the Brazilian scene.
In commenting on the addition of peacemaker, Rodrigo Terron, board member of Los Grandes, had this to say to Dust2.us and Dust2 Brasil in a translated statement:
peacemaker has a very large and valuable background within the CS:GO scene. We have an experienced team that, in the hands of a well-structured coaching staff, will be able to yield even more expressive results. We are in an advanced negotiations with him, making with Estrela Bet making the deal viable, our sponsor, and we expect a positive outcome in the next few days.
