Mythic Cup 4 announced; ATK, Singularity, New Identity headline invites
Mythic have announced the fourth iteration of their online cup, with a total of sixteen teams once again participating. The prize pool will remain the same as the previous cup at $2,500, while the main event will run from August 3-4. Notably, this will be the second consecutive event where the cup's namesake team will not compete, with Dust2.us being informed that they will no longer be participating to avoid any conflicts of interest.
In identical fashion to Mythic Cup 3, fourteen teams will receive direct invites to the tournament, with an additional two earning spots through an open qualifier. Ten of the fourteen teams have been announced, with the remaining invites set to be revealed in short order. The qualifier will take place the day before the main tournament, on August 2nd, with the top two teams advancing. Interested teams and players can sign-up on the qualifier's FACEIT page.
The winner of Mythic Cup 3, eUnited, will not return to defend their title as the event overlaps with the player break, with the members of the team likely on vacation or recuperating ahead of a possible Major appearance. Singularity will look to secure their second Mythic Cup title after winning the inaugural tournament, while the Riot Squad roster who won Mythic Cup 2 have yet to be confirmed for the event.
A number of familar names from MDL will also make appearances, including Party Astronauts, ATK, New Identity, and The Quest. It is currently unknown as to who ATK will utilize to fill their fifth spot as the team remains on the hunt for a permanent addition.
The team list for the fourth Mythic Cup currently looks as follows:
