Update: MIBR and Luminosity swap LUCAS1 and felps on loan
MIBR have officially announced the addition of Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles as a replacement for João "felps" Vasconcellos. The roster move was initially reported on by Jarek "DeKay" Lewis back on June 22nd, with the team reportedly practicing with LUCAS1 during EPL Finals in Montpellier.
This move comes after MIBR have struggled immensely to reach the later stages of tournaments throughout 2019, with the team recently bowing out of EPL finals following a 2-0 loss to Liquid. Additionally, in a recent interview with HLTV Marcelo "coldzera" David admitted that the "team just isn't fitting very well" with felps playstyle creating numerous "gaps" leading to awkward situations.
The addition of LUCAS1 to the Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo led squad is seemingly a long time coming as FalleN reportedly wanted to sign the player all the way back in early 2017 as a replacement for Lincoln "fnx" Lau. Additionally, back in 2014, FalleN and Fernando "fer" Alvarenga played with LUCAS1 for a period of three months when the trio were together on KaBuM!.
This move also represents the first time in LUCAS1's career he hasn't played with brother Henrique "HEN1" Teles, with the duo of players most notably being part of the Immortals roster that finished second place at PGL Krakow 2017.
As a result, MIBR's roster is now:
- Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo
- Fernando "fer" Alvarenga
- Marcelo "coldzera" David
- Epitácio "TACO" de Melo
- Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles (Loan)*
- Wilton "zews" Prado (Coach)
This move also leaves Luminosity with the following roster:
- Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato
- Lucas "steel" Lopes
- Henrique "HEN1" Teles
- Ricardo "boltz" Prass
- João "felps" Vasconcellos (Loan)*
- Rafael "zakk" Fernandes (Coach)
MIBR will debut with LUCAS1 at ESL One Cologne which is set to begin on July 2nd.
Update: In a follow-up Tweet, Luminosity have announced that they have acquired felps on loan from MIBR, while LUCAS1 has been loaned to MIBR as opposed to being permanently signed to the organization.
