EliGE and Twistzz featured on Rio subways
While the rest of the CS:GO world waits with baited breath as the IEM Rio Major kicks off in just under a week, the city of Rio de Janeiro is already in full swing for the event. Several subway cars have been covered with promotional images of players, the event, and other advertisements of the event.
According to Dust2 Brasil, the subway cars on Lines 1 & 4 of the Rio Metro have been covered in this images, some of which feature players like Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev and Robert "Patsi" Isyanov, from Natus Vincere and Spirit, respectively.
Those subway lines were chosen specifically for the promotion as they lead straight to Barra da Tijuca, the neighborhood where the event is taking place. Additional players on the subway include Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato, Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, Fredrik "REZ" Sterner, Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut, Fernando "fer" Alvarenga, and Marcelo "coldzera" David.
The IEM Rio de Janiero Major will is set to begin on October 30th and will have a prize pool of $1.25 million. Evil Geniuses and Liquid will represent the North American region while 00 Nation, FURIA, Imperial, and 9z represent the rest of the Americas at the event. The Challengers Stage kicks off with EG, FURIA, 00 Nation, Imperial, and 9z battling to advance against the rest of the world for just eight spots in the Legends Stage.
For the first time, all stages of the Major will be played in front of a live audience. The Riocentro will host the Challengers and Legends stage, while the Champions Stage will be played in the Jeunesse Arena. The decision to move the first two stages was done in response to overwhelming demand for tickets after the Jeunesse Arena immediately sold out.
