BHOP controversially part ways with two following ECL Relegation
Brody "BeaKie" Kelly has announced that he and BHOP have parted ways. Shortly afterwards, Brett "brett" Rhein similarly announced that he would be LFT heading into ECL Season 43. These moves come after BHOP stamped out their competition in ESL Challenger League Season 42 Relegation, securing the squad a place in ECL Season 43.
BeaKie elaborated on his removal in a TwitLonger that he and the team opted to part ways after determining that BeaKie did not align with the vision that the trio of Paul "aris" Wilson, Cristopher "Swahn" Swahn, and Silas "silas" Marrufo had for the team moving forward. BeaKie went on to stress in the TwitLonger that despite the mutual disagreements, there were no hard feelings between the players surrounding his removal.
BeaKie had been a part of BHOP since March of this year, when Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz's Disconnected squad began playing under the tag. The team has seen numerous roster changes over the past seven months, leaving BeaKie and silas as the only two players left from the Disconnected lineup until BeaKie's departure was announced. brett's time on BHOP was a bit shorter than BeaKie's as brett joined up with BHOP following the exit of stanislaw and the benching of Jacob "SPERMY" Younan.
During their time on BHOP, BeaKie and brett posted respectable 1.07 and 1.06 average ratings, respectively. The duo also helped the squad secure a number of solid placings, including a Cash Cup victory, a second-place finish in the CCT North America Series, and deep runs in a number of open qualifiers, including two of the Americas RMR Open Qualifiers.
With BeaKie and brett's removal from the squad, BHOP are now:
-
Silas "silas" Marrufo
-
Paul "aris" Wilson
-
Christopher "Swahn" Swahn
-
Szymon "LAJT" Jaworski (Coach)
-
Mark "CooperTrooper" Cooper (Assistant Coach)
BeaKie and brett are now on the hunt for new squads to represent, while BHOP will be looking to round out the two open spots on their lineup. All of these moves will need to be made before ECL Season 43 begins, with the domestic league set to begin on October 25th.
