ECL S42 Relegation bracket set
Eros ran off their opponent's Inferno pick, winning eight-straight CT rounds after starting down 0-3. X13 rallied to take three of their own, securing six before the half ended. After winning the half 9-6 Eros were in position to close the first map.
They received a taste of their own medicine, losing eight-straight to turn this game around and secure map point. Eros rallied with two of their own, but X13 sealed the deal in the 30th, winning 16-14. After the tight contest, it was on to Vertigo.
Eros made light work of their opponents on their home pick, besting them in the first half 9-6 on T-side, only to wash them 7-1 on CT-side. After the 5-5 tie in the first half, the map was all Eros as they won eleven of the final thirteen rounds to send it to the Nuke decider.
Nuke was a two-sided T-side contest, as Eros tore through the X13 defense every which way to claim the 11-4 first-half lead. Things looked very favorable for them to close out, but second-half T-side heroics from X13 prevented the easy win. Seven-straight rounds to start the second half set the team up for a comeback.
At 11-11, it was X13 that had more in the tank, as they won five of the final seven rounds to confirm the comeback, win the map 16-13 and the series 2-1. X13’s comeback win over Eros gives them an opportunity to climb their way into ECL through the relegation bracket.
For those unfamiliar, the teams that place 2nd-5th receive an invite to the relegation tournament, while the first-place team receives a direct invite to ECL S43. The four teams representing ADV in the bracket are Red Wolves, Snakes Den, Villainous, and X13.
Completing the other half of the eight-team bracket are the four lowest placing teams in BHOP, Mythic, Unjustified, and Victorum. The eight teams will compete in BO3 double-elimination with the four top teams heading to ECL and the bottom four going to ADV for S43.
