ex-Zone and BLITZKRIEG add insurance, Mythic without LeX again
With the season in full swing, a trio of MDL squads made further changes to their rosters last night.
First, Alex "LeX" Deily has left the Mythic ESEA roster. While a reason for this departure has not been given, the timing coincides with the official release of Battalion 1944, which the former Winterfox player left CS:GO to pursue in 2018.
For now, it seems that Donovan "zNf" From will round out the Mythic roster, as he has filled in for both LeX and James "hazed" Cobb across several events recently.
Mythic's roster is now:
- Erik "fl0m" Flom
- Adam "Polen" Polen
- Todd "anger" Williams
- James "hazed" Cobb
- Donovan "zNf" Froid (Stand-in)
- Leonardo "Laski" Arroyo (Backup)
ex-Zone have bulked up their bench with Tyler "tweiss" Weiss, due to recent addition Noah "ULTRA" Giesbrecht experiencing ongoing PC issues. The team have also fielded former Front member Rahul "curry" Nemani as a stand-in recently.
ex-Zone now have the following roster:
- Mike "Swisher" Schmid
- Joshua "Hunter" Madore
- Alexander "zander" Diaz
- Noah "ULTRA" Giesbrecht
- Marian "tyfoon" Lesnic
- Tyler "tweiss" Weiss (Stand-in)
- Teric "Bibby" Ingram (Coach)
The move sees tweiss return to MDL for the first team since parting ways with Infamous in February of this year, which the player is "SUPER excited" about.
Speaking of ex-Zone, former member Alex "aproto" Protopapas has linked up with BLITZKRIEG, who well and truly are building up a fleet of players. With the readditions of aproto and Ian "tex" Botsch, the team closely resembles the incarnation that originally qualified to MDL from Advanced before the start of the current season.
BLITZKRIEG now boast the following members:
- Nick "alter" Jackson
- Andrew "ShoT_UP" Orlowski
- Scott "KARNAGE" Sala
- Michael "orbit" Faulkner
- Brock "buffdaddy" Wempa
- Ian "tex" Botsch
- Alex "aproto" Protopapas
Contacted by Dust2.us, aproto shared his motivation for the reunion:
Honestly, I don't think I'm anywhere near my best right now and I'd rather get back to a point I'm comfortable with. I'm not trying to join another team again, unless I'm confident in myself and the team, so I'm taking some time to see what I feel/want, and will focus on streaming more.
In typical BLITZKRIEG fashion, when asked what starting five the team might favor, aproto told us he didn't have a clue.
Of the three teams, ex-Zone currently boast the best MDL record, sitting at 4-5 and in tenth place overall. Mythic and BLITZKRIEG are both faring slightly worse, with 4-8 and 3-7 records, respectively.
All three sides will be in action tonight in some capacity, with Mythic and ex-Zone participating in the final Americas Minor open qualifier, and BLITZKRIEG set to take on Bad News Bears in MDL.
