ex-Zone lose koga, sweep up tyfoon
Hunter "koga" Allen is no longer a part of ex-Zone, with the player having left the team's ESEA roster earlier this morning. Former MASSIVEimpact member Marian "tyfoon" Lesnic has been enlisted to fill koga's slot.
In a tweet, koga revealed that he "wasn't having fun playing" with the team anymore, going on to say that "a lot of things felt off from when [they] won Advanced." Notably, the team were forced to part ways with 15-year-old Nathan "leaf" Orf following their qualification to MDL, hastily adding Alex "aproto" Protopapas in leaf's stead as the start of the season drew near, and leading to some role changes on the team.
koga further elaborated upon those role issues in his tweet, saying that he felt that team "cut people instead of actually working on true issues", relating to the removal of aproto and addtion of Noah "ULTRA" Giesbrecht last week.
A second tweet from the player pointed towards further frustration from changes to his roles and positioning, with koga saying that he doesn't "feel like pursuing playing Counter-Strike" anymore as he "had the most fulfillment and success when [he is] able to play out of the box". An apology to players that he may have trash talked was issued in a third and final tweet, with koga wishing everyone the best going forward.
ex-Zone's roster is now:
- Mike "Swisher" Schmid
- Joshua "Hunter" Madore
- Alexander "zander" Diaz
- Noah "ULTRA" Giesbrecht
- Marian "tyfoon" Lesnic
- Teric "Bibby" Ingram (Coach)
ex-Zone are set to debut with tyfoon later tonight as they face off against Variance at 10 PM EDT for MDL.
