Dirty Peek Pete returns
With the final IEM Rio Major American RMR open qualifier starting today, North America's players have jumped into the fray to claim the last two tickets to Stockholm. In that vein, retired player and poker star Peter "ptr" Gurney has assembled a mixteam that aims to take the fight to NA's youngsters. The squad, called Pete's Hookah Lounge, consists of former Bad News Bears duo Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman and Gabe "Spongey" Greiner alongside Tyler "tweiss" Weiss and Koby "kobruh" Higgs.
Before retiring from CS:GO in 2021, ptr was a member of the original Bad News Bears squad alongside Spongey. While Shakezullah only joined later, the trio are incredibly familiar with each other and will hopefully be able to hit the ground running. On the other hand, ptr has never played with tweiss or kobruh in an official capacity. However, the two pugstars have been FPL regulars for sometime, with ptr almost certainly crossing paths with them during late-night pugs.
Looking at ptr and co.'s path to the RMR, they have a fairly reasonable bracket. Their first hurdle will likely be Advanced squad Louisville Red Wolves after which they should be able to cruise until top sixteen where they square off against Strife. Should the team beat Strife, it would be a major upset as Strife are earmarked for one of the last two spots in the American RMR.
Pete's Hookah Lounge consists of:
-
Peter "ptr" Gurney
-
Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman
-
Gabe "Spongey" Greiner
-
Tyler "tweiss" Weiss
-
Koby "kobruh" Higgs
