ESL One New York 2019 announced
ESL One New York will return for 2019, the tournament organizer has announced.
Held between September 26th - 29th, ESL One New York 2019 will see eight teams face off for $200,000 as well as counting towards the Intel Grand Slam. The playoffs will be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on September 28th - 29th.
The GSL group stage will be held on the first two days, with the opening matches from each group played alongside each other. The top two teams from each group will make their way to the playoffs. All matches will be played in a best-of-three format, bar the final which will be a best-of-five.
The tournament will see six of the eight teams invited, with the final two places filled with qualifiers from Europe and North America. The closed qualifier for North America will be held on June 27th, from two open qualifiers with dates to be announced.
On top of the main event, ESL One New York will also play host to the ESL Mobile Open and see the return of the MSI Gaming Arena. Last year's MGA was won by AVANGAR, having beaten compLexity 16-9 in the final match.
Tickets for ESL One New York 2019 are set to go on sale from Friday, May 3rd. Details of invites and the open qualifiers will be released soon.
