Complexity confirm hallzerk as junior's replacement
hallzerk has joined Complexity, which marks the Norwegian's first professional stint since mid-April. His last team was Dignitas, which hovered just outside the top thirty during his tenure. Dignitas never achieved any deep runs in any tournaments rife with top-tier talent, but they did produce decent results in the lower tier scenes, such as winning third place in Pinnacle Cup 3. However, they could never replicate that success against the best in the world.
Just a few hours ago, Complexity formally announced the benching of Paytyn "junior" Johnson. The embattled AWPer has been blamed for many of the issues regarding Complexity's recent poor performance. In 2022, junior had only a 0.91 rating against top 30 opposition, a dismal performance from the player holding the big green gun.
Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli, on the other hand, holds a 1.00 rating with the same conditions applied. Not an amazing statistic to be sure, but better than the player he replaces. hallzerk has been in free agency since June 16th when Dignitas released their roster. As Dust2 reported earlier, hallzerk has been on Complexity's short-list for a while, and has been active on FPL.
More challenges face the new AWPer though, as this is his first time playing with North American players. His previous teams of BX3, Nordavind, and Dignitas have all been with fellow Norwegians or regionally close players from Sweden. hallzerk must now adapt to playing with four native English speakers. Nonetheless, Complexity desperately need some rejuvenation, as they sit 45th in the world with a dismal 7.7% win rate over the past 3 months.
Moving forward, Complexity will field:
-
Johnny "JT" Theodosiou
-
Justin "FaNg" Coakley
-
Ricky "floppy" Kemery
-
Michael "Grim" Wince
-
Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli
-
Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen (Coach)
-
Paytyn "junior" Johnson (Inactive)
Complexity will head into BLAST Premier Fall Groups alongside Liquid and Evil Geniuses. Liquid will continue to field Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis while Evil Geniuses' roster is reported to have Sanzhar "neaLaN" Iskhakov and Kévin "misutaaa" Rabier in its ranks, departing from their North American majority.
