Detonate start post-season rebuild
Detonate have announced changes to their starting lineup ahead of the player break. This sees both Devin "Xzen" Barber and John "arcade" Rogel depart the roster following an unsuccessful run through ESL Challenger League Season 41 Relegation.
Xzen had been on Detonate's books since the signing of the Hog Riders lineup back in late April, with the roster going on to place fifth in ESEA Advanced Season 41. This strong showing booked the squad a spot in Relegation, but defeats here to Bad News Bears and Axolotls ultimately saw the side fall short of promotion with a 5th-6th place finish. Outside of league play, the team failed to post any notable results, with their best showing being a fourth-round exit in the first ESEA x Fragadelphia Summer Cash Cup in June.
As for arcade, the 20-year-old was only with Detonate for a little under two months, joining the side as a replacement for Reece "Wilky" Wilkerson. While with Johnny "JDubs" Wu and company, arcade averaged a modest 1.01 rating over 16 maps, whislt also helping the side to the aforementioned 5th place finish in their division and the subsequent unsuccessful Relegation campaign.
The organization further elaborated on Xzen's exit by stating that the 22-year-old will be taking a break from competitive Counter-Strike for the time being whilst he deals with real-life commitments.
Detonate head into the player break with:
-
Johnny "JDubs" Wu
-
Landon "landmaz" Lawrence
-
Sam "Noxio" Goodwin
-
Luke "Viathan" Carstens (Coach)
Detonate have just under a month to fill out their roster and prepare for the next season, as ESEA Advanced Season 42 is slated to begin on August 8th.
