stamina steps down from Strife
Strife have announced that their long-time IGL Bobby "stamina" Eitrem has decided to bench himself. The move marks the end of his nearly year-long involvement with the squad, dating back to when he joined Recon 5 in August 2021 as a replacement for Jeorge "jeorgesnorts" Endicott.
During his time with Strife, stamina notably led the squad to a first-place finish at Fragadelphia 16 back in March, with the squad peeking at 49th in the world on HLTV as a result. Outside of the LAN result in Philadelphia, Strife made ECL playoffs on three occasions, finishing in fourth place on two occasions.
Despite the strong domestic results, stamina's tenure was fraught with some difficulty and underwhelming performances. The squad struggled for some time to find their footing following the removal of Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk, with the team recently falling flat in ESL Challenger Season 41 playoffs, ultimately losing to BHOP in the lower bracket.
Additionally, during their time in Europe for ESL Pro League Conference Season 16, stamina and co. looked somewhat out of their depth during their first European outing, falling to TYLOO and cowana in back-to-back 2-0 series.
In his TwitLonger regarding his benching on Strife, stamina thanked his teammates and the organization for their support and announced that he'd be looking to build a new project while also being open to offers from ECL-level teams. Strife's coach, Anton "ToH1o" Georgiev, offered a brief comment to Dust2.us that stamina's decision was unexpected and that the team are now in the process of looking for a new IGL.
Strife are now:
-
Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan
-
David "J0LZ" Jolin
-
Kristjan "fejtZ" Allsaar
-
Ethan "reck" Serrano
-
Anton "ToH1o" Georgiev (Coach)
-
Bobby "stamina" Eitrem (Inactive)
Strife will now begin the difficult process of finding a new IGL before ESL Challenger League Season 42 begins on August 16th.
