biguzera gave some props to 00 Nation and HUMMER, two teams who he believes have more to show

biguzera: "Over there [in NA], I practice for one month and I learn 10% of that if I play here for one week"

paiN are unfortunately sent home after two losses in the Play-In, but biguzera still has a smile on his face

After a nail biting 16-19 opening match loss to Mouz and a three map affair versus Sprout, paiN leave Cologne winless. After an extremely successful North American outing, it's a tough loss for the team, but they still keep their heads high. Their performances have only been getting better as they look towards the Major in Rio. Following their loss, Dust2.us' Liam "Slevo" Slevin interviewed biguzera to see what he had to say.

Unfortunately you're out of the Play-In after a close loss to Sprout, in a best of three. What do you think went wrong here today?

After the loss versus Mouz, I don’t think we processed that loss yet. That game was so recent so when we got to the second game, we weren’t motivated and things like that. We were less hyped. It was a difficult day for us. They were both close games and we could’ve won both of them.

You guys have had some impressive results over in America. You won ECL without dropping a map in the playoffs and you had a really good run at Blast where you took down some big teams. You haven't got a chance to play too much internationally. What do you think you guys need to do to get there and be consistent at all these events.

I think playing Europe is for sure gonna be one way. If we stay for one month or two months or three months, in Europe we're going to step up our level. I hope, actually. I think these kinds of things help a lot to level up. When we start to compete like in Europe in Tier A tournaments, I think everything is gonna happen naturally.

Like you said, if you stayed here longer, you'll get better and better. How big is the difference at the moment between North American practice and European practice? [This question was asked from a fan on our Dust2.us Discord. Join today to ask some of your favorite pros your own questions.]

Is huge bro. It's so huge. Over there, I practice for one month I learn 10% of that if I play here for one week. It's so different. We still play a lot of things here that don't exist there. There are so many mistakes there. And the guys there [in NA], most of them don't play seriously sometimes. All I can say is that it's so different. And it’s the same in Brazil too.

I did an interview with coldzera earlier today and when I asked him who did he think would be the biggest surprise Brazilian team here, he said you guys. So I will ask you the same question in terms of the Brazilian teams that are here. Who do you think will be the biggest surprise and do the best?

I think it's 00 [Nation]. Yeah, I will give back there.

The Brazilian scene is full of great talent at the moment. You have five teams in the top 30 at the moment. In terms of the lesser-known players that would be outside the top 30. Who do you think is the next up-and-coming Brazilian talent?

I think it has to be HUMMER. HUMMER is getting many good results in Brazil. But I don’t know, maybe they are not prepared yet to be in Europe. I think they have to prove more in NA in tournaments that they qualified for. But I think they are the next.

You said 00 Nation would do pretty well here. We know that they've had those changes. Do you think with the player break coming up after this, we'll see a lot of changes in the Brazilian scene?

Ah for sure, for sure. We’ve already seen a lot of changes. We know a lot about that. Of course, a lot that I cannot talk about that haha, but yeah, for sure. I don't know exactly but I think it's going to be a lot.

Looking now with the player break coming up, what do you think the goals are for paiN for the rest of the year?

Of course it’s the Major in Rio. We really, really want to be there. It’s the biggest goal in life. So we just think about the Major. We cannot think about anything else. We have other tournaments but we don't think a lot about them. We just have to be focused on the Major, you know.
