HUMMER forced off road into lower bracket
Despite a great display against Sprout which gave the squad momentum coming into this game, HUMMER took their foot off the gas as they fell to Eternal Fire in two maps. This loss sends them into the lower bracket against the scary Frenchmen of HEET, but their heroic display to force overtime in the second map should give them the confidence they need.
Right out of the gate, HUMMER looked outmatched as the pure aim of Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş was too much for the Brazilians to handle on Dust2. The ex-imperial roster stalled early, ending the first half 10-5, before only getting two rounds across the second half. Despite the AWPing efforts of Caio "zqkS" Fonseca, HUMMER could not keep up with their opponents, losing their own map pick 16-7.
Overpass was a completely different story, with both halves being extremely close, with Gustavo "SHOOWTiME" GonçalvesHUMMER refusing to go down without a fight, putting up a 1.31 rating. The first half started off looking like another map that Eternal Fire would dominate, starting out with five rounds in a row. Despite this strong start by Eternal Fire, HUMMER came back swinging and began to show the fight that had impressed many in their match against Sprout. The remainder of the rounds in regulation went back and forth before eventually, Eternal Fire forced overtime off the back of a weak buy. Hope was alive for HUMMER but unfortunately, they fell short and Eternal Fire closed the series with a 19-16 win.
