Report: Rogue set to exit CS:GO as EPL roster lock nears
According to a report released earlier today by Jarek "DeKay" Lewis at Dexerto, Rogue are planning on exiting CS:GO following the pending acquisition of Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen and Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen by OpTic, which was initially reported on Monday by Dust2.dk. This potential move would see Jakob "JUGi" Hansen leave the active lineup and join Cloud9, as previously reported.
With the looming departure of these two players, Dust2.us knows that the remaining members had engaged in talks with Danes Niels-Christian "NaToSaphiX" Sillassen and Asger "AcilioN" Larsen as potential replacements. According to sources, this move had buy-in from Daniel "vice" Kim, before ultimately being nixed by the Rogue organization. Now, it appears that vice has been targeted by compLexity — though it is unknown for which of their current players.
Rogue dropping their CS:GO team comes shortly after they qualified for the ECS Season 7 Finals, and it is currently unknown what would happen to their spot there, or furthermore to their ESL Pro League spot. Spencer "Hiko" Martin has stated on Twitter that the current lineup will be still attending StarSeries i-League Season 7 in Shanghai.
Rogue's roster is currently:
- Daniel "vice" Kim
- Spencer "Hiko" Martin
- Hunter "SicK" Mims
- Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen
- Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen
Rogue, OpTic, Cloud9, and compLexity have very little time to make a decision regarding their futures in CS:GO as the ESL Pro League roster lock is set to go into effect tonight at 6 PM EDT.
