New eUnited roster headlines DreamHack Open Rio Closed Qualifier invites
Just a day before the start of the DreamHack Open Rio open qualifier, DreamHack have announced the four teams to receive Closed Qualifier invites. An even split of Brazilian and North American teams in the form of eUnited, INTZ, Spacestation, and oNe now await the four open qualifier teams, with whom they will clash in a single-elimination, best-of-three bracket from March 10-12.
The Closed Qualifier will see the official debut of the new-look eUnited lineup, who acquired the services of a trio of Swole Patrol members in the middle of February shortly after they were defeated by them in the IEM Sydney Closed Qualifier grand finals. Edgar "MarKE" Jimenez, Anthony "vanity" Malaspina, and Victor "food" Wong will all play their first matches under the eUnited banner, while Swole Patrol are set to compete in the open qualifier to work their way through to the closed portion of the bracket.
The open stage of the qualifier will begin tomorrow, with 88 teams currently signed up on the ESEA event page. Teams of note include Swole Patrol, iNTACT, Party Astronauts, Hysteria, and Whatever it Takes, although new teams may still join the list as signups remain open until 2 PM EST tomorrow.
The four invited teams for the DreamHack Open Rio North America and North Latin America are:
eUnited | INTZ |
oNe | Spacestation |
While the teamlist for DreamHack Open Rio currently consists of:
AVANGAR | FURIA |
Luminosity | Sharks |

The DreamHack Open Rio open qualifier will commence tomorrow at 3 PM EST.
