Former Chaos core reunite for ESEA Spring Cash Cup 2
While the majority of North American VALORANT's teams are taking a break from competition due to not qualifying to VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters, Anthony "vanity" Malaspina has assembled a crack squad of former CS:GO players to contest ESEA Spring Cash Cup 2 this weekend.
The retired dream team includes vanity's former Chaos teammates Nathan "leaf" Orf and Erick "Xeppaa" Bach alongside former Triumph player Rahul "curry" Nemani and Adam "mada" Pampuch who was most known for his time on Rugratz.
The core of this squad is fondly remembered for their exploits in CS:GO under Chaos in 2020, where the team peaked at 17th in the world on HLTV's ratings while claiming a number of titles online. Unfortunately, due to a mixture of COVID-19 and poor management the Chaos organization ran out of funding and had to release the team and later close its doors. The loss of support from the fan-favorite esports organization led to leaf and vanity retiring while Xeppaa briefly played on the ill-fated European Cloud9 roster before that project imploded due to poor results.
As for curry and mada, while they had less illustrious careers in CS:GO, they were well regarded in the domestic scene as strong players with bright futures.
While this is likely just the quintet enjoying some time off, we can hold out hope that playing CS:GO again could reignite the flame in the group. Should they elect to return to their roots, they would join a growing list of players who have come back including Ricky "floppy" Kemery, Damian "daps" Steele, and Timothy "autimatic" Ta.
Thus the temporary Chaos reunion will consist of:
-
Anthony "vanity" Malaspina
-
Nathan "leaf" Orf
-
Erick "Xeppaa" Bach
-
Rahul "curry" Nemani
-
Adam "mada" Pampuch
vanity and co. will play in ESEA Spring Cash Cup 2 when it begins on April 9th at 04:00PM.
