Bushido Boyz drop JoshRT and oSee; far to the bench
Bushido Boyz have removed Josh "JoshRT" Lee, the former Prospects player announced on Twitter. The move comes after a season where the team finished with a 7-9 record, which is not terrible for a side that at one point looked destined for relegation.
Dust2.us have learned that Josh "oSee" Ohm has been given his marching orders as well, with Campbell "far" Walsh moving to a backup position for the time being. After Season 26 concluded and Bushido Boyz had secured their spot for the next season, Blake "Strings" Stringer was trying out for other teams and contemplating leaving the side.
However, in the end, Eric "Kwong" Kwong and Strings decided to stay together and rebuild the team around themselves, removing the aforementioned trio. As of now, the pair have been trying out Tom "tconnors" Connors and Owen "oBo" Schlatter, formerly of Beacon and Adaptation, respectively.
JoshRT gave this comment about his removal from the team:
I think it's really unfortunate changes like this still happen in the amateur/semi-professional North American scene. Prior to the season, I told Kwong that I can help make his team better by joining but he opted to keep his lineup from his last season. So instead I joined as a sixth man and continued to give some advice throughout the season. After a poor start in to the season, Kwong decided to make roster changes (-shonk -JonahP), and I asked again for a tryout. Instead, he took on oSee and will. I have nothing against those two but I took the move to not even try me out as me not being needed so I left the roster.
After further losses and faced with the possibility of relegation, Kwong asked me to join and I was finally given the chance to help — and we avoided relegation. All throughout, my intentions were to help a long time friend Kwong, but in the end my efforts weren't appreciated. I guess the remaining players just didn't see it the same way and I wasn't a good fit for the team. I wish these guys the best of luck.
With JoshRT, oSee and far, Bushido Boyz narrowly missed qualifying for the WESG Americas Regional LAN, avoided MDL relegation, and made it to the closed qualifier for DreamHack Open Winter. JoshRT is currently looking for opportunities to play on MDL teams for Season 27.
