Astralis break down MIBR in Katowice
The second semifinal of the day saw Astralis take on the final North American-based team left in Katowice, MIBR. This was the first time the two teams had faced since MIBR's roster change, and the two decided on playing Overpass, Inferno and Train as a decider.
It was Astralis who opened the game on their CT-side, taking the pistol and the next four rounds as MIBR struggled to get a start in the game. The Brazilians didn't take too long after that, racking up three rounds in a row to narrow the gap before Nicolai "device" Reedtz picked up three on a retake to stay ahead. The two teams traded rounds after that, until Fernando "fer" Alvarenga picked three players apart to take the lead. From there MIBR kept on winning and went 9-6 ahead at the break.
The second half began with Astralis, once again, taking the first few pistol rounds before dropping the first full buy to MIBR. But MIBR wouldn't be able to take the advantage after device secured a 1v2 to reset MIBR and head to a 12-10 lead. The Brazilians then started to come back into the game and close their opponent's lead, with Epitacio "TACO" de Melo taking a 3k on the defence in the first set before fer took four to even the map at 14-14. But by the end, it wouldn't be a win for MIBR as Astralis secured the final two rounds to take Overpass 16-14.
Inferno was next, and the Danes started the game off strong with a five round streak on the T-side, a run started after Emil "Magisk" Reif secured a 1v2 in the pistol round. MIBR picked up two rounds after that five round run to potentially give themselves a shot in the game, but Astralis answered back almost instantly with another set of three rounds. The end of the half, however, was MIBR's as they picked up four of the five rounds to limit Astralis' lead to 9-6.
The second half began with Astralis winning the first two rounds on their CT-side, before fer took down three on the attack to give MIBR a fighting chance in the game. But, it being Astralis, this fighting chance didn't exist as the Danish team utilised the round time effectively to win a full eco round. From there Astralis moved to the end of the map, taking the series 2-0 with a 16-7 score.

This result means MIBR is eliminated from the tournament in 3rd-4th place, with Astralis heading to tomorrow's Grand Final. They will be facing the Finns of ENCE, who eliminated Na`Vi 2-1 earlier today, at 1:00 PM EST tomorrow.
