Philadelphia Liberty bench Sharkie; garret rejoins
Brandon "Sharkie" Ly has been benched from Philadelphia Liberty. In his place, the squad have opted to bring back Garret "garret" Henry who was also benched approximately one month ago.
Sharkie was with the roster for just under two months, linking up with the core when it played under the Springroll moniker before being signed by Philadelphia Liberty. During his time there, the 22-year-old helped the side impress in ESEA Advanced Season 40 with the squad posting a 6-2 regular season record by the time of his last appearance with the lineup.
Unfortunately, the team failed to translate this solid league performance over to standalone events, with the side bowing out in the second and third rounds of their two ESEA Cash Cup campaigns.
Meanwhile, garret links back up with Philadelphia Liberty after previously playing with Graham "GRAHAM" Smith and company for five months prior to his benching in February. His time with the group was mixed, initially finding success by securing promotion to ESEA Premier Season 39, before quickly being relegated back down after a lackluster 3-5 record in the core's debut season in the division.
When contacted by Dust2.us, GRAHAM explained that despite Sharkie being a solid player individually, a failure to integrate into the team's playstyle ultimately pushed the team to seek other options.
Philadelphia Liberty now have:
-
Graham "GRAHAM" Smith
-
Jeremy "taiwi" Wang
-
Andrew "tender" Cote
-
Wayne "castro" Einarsson
-
Garret "garret" Henry
-
Brandon "Sharkie" Ly (Inactive)
-
Trong "piepiepoppin" Nghia Doa (Coach)
garret has already played his first match back with the squad when they took down Brazen 16-13 last week. Philadelphia Liberty will now be hoping to keep up their solid ESEA Advanced run as they take on Omega on March 13th at 09:00PM.
