ATK add b0denmaster and truth
ATK have completed their roster with the addition of two Scandinavian players, Jonathan "b0denmaster" Bodenmalm, and Erik "truth" Hansen Dyrnes. b0denmaster will take over AWPing in the roster, a role left vacant by the departure of Marshall "Minus" Sedowicz, while Wiljahne "mango" Smith has been removed from the starting lineup to make room for truth.
ATK's roster has been in a state of flux since the departure of the young sniper Minus, who left the team to link up with Damian "daps" Steele in the Canadian's Orgless project. Minus' exit came after a lackluster end to the 2021 season for the South African squad, as they missed out on the ESEA Premier Season 39 playoffs after only managing a middling 3-5 regular season record.
ATK kicked off the 2022 season with their participation in the Mythic Winter Cup, with coach Daniel "sprayxd" Kogan and James "JAM" H. acting as stand-ins. Considering the circumstances, the team managed a solid placing at the event taking down RBG in a group stage BO3, and later falling in the semifinals at the hands of the eventual winning side, Party Astronauts.
b0denmaster makes his way to North America after an extensive time competing in Sweden with Lilmix, a team which he founded in late 2018 and whose banner he had been competing under until just a little over a week ago. Lilmix did not have a particularly strong 2021 season, as they struggled in both local Swedish tournaments and online European events.
Despite weak showings in other events, Lilmix did secure an impressive regular season record in Season 38 of ESEA Advanced in Europe, with eleven wins and three losses overall. Unfortunately for them, they missed out on ESEA Premier Season 39 Relegation after defeats in the playoffs at the hands of Filip "NEO" Kubski's HONORIS and Ukrainian side EC Kyiv. During his lengthy time with Lilmix, b0denmaster posted a 1.05 average rating across 352 maps.
truth spent much of his time in Europe competing in Norwegian teams, with the exception of a six-month stint with British team Vexed. His most recent venture in CS:GO was more than a year ago at this point, as he played with Apeks from August 2019 to October 2020. truth spent much of 2021 focusing on competing in VALORANT, but opted to make his return to CS:GO in the latter portion of the year.
During his time with Apeks, truth and his team were unable to make deep runs in the online events and qualifiers they participated in, as the competition in Europe proved too fierce. In his 14-month tenure with Apeks, truth managed a 1.03 average rating across 197 maps.
ATK's lineup is now:
-
Gareth "MisteM" Ries
-
Rhys "Fadey" Armstrong
-
Ian "motm" Hardy
-
Johnathan "b0denmaster" Bodenmalm
-
Erik "truth" Hansen Dyrnes
-
Daniel "sprayxd" Kogan (Coach)
-
Austin "Classy" Lang (Analyst)
This fresh ATK lineup has already made its debut, with a 2-1 victory over the new-look Third Impact in ESL Challenger League Season 40, in large part thanks to an impressive 1.40 series rating from b0denmaster.
