Complexity announces signing of Extra Salt roster
Dallas-based organization Complexity have announced the signing of the current Extra Salt roster following a significant amount of speculation regarding the move.
Complexity opted to revamp their roster after a lackluster 2021 which saw, among other poor results, the team miss out on qualification for the PGL Major in Stockholm. Initially, the organization set its sights on acquiring Copenhagen Flames' lineup after the Danish squad's success at the PGL Major.
Ultimately, Complexity's interest in Copenhagen Flames' roster waned, with the latter organization announcing they would be keeping their team heading into 2022, Complexity started searching a little closer to home, and in mid-December, it was reported that Complexity was interested in signing a North American squad, consisting of the core of Extra Salt with the additions of Michael "Grim" Wince and Paytyn "junior" Johnson.
Prior to this move, Extra Salt have fared quite well both domestically and abroad since the signing of Ricky "floppy" Kemery, with the team claiming first-place in the previous season of ESEA Premier, and successfully qualifying for ESL Pro League Season 15 through EPL Conference Season 15.
The signing sees the core trio of Johnny "JT" Theodosiou, Justin "FaNg" Coakley, and floppy make the step up to Complexity, with the gap in AWPing left behind by Liquid's signing of Josh "oSee" Ohm being filled by former FURIA and Bad News Bears sniper junior. In order to accommodate the addition of Grim, Edgar "MarKE" Maldonado was ultimately left out of the move.
This signing will provide plentiful opportunities for the squad, as Complexity is not only a part of ESL's Louvre Agreement, which provides them a permanent slot in ESL Pro League, but they are also a BLAST Partner Team, allowing them guaranteed participation in certain BLAST events.
Complexity have signed the following roster:
-
Johnny "JT" Theodosiou
-
Justin "FaNg" Coakley
-
Ricky "floppy" Kemery
-
Paytyn "junior" Johnson
-
Michael "Grim" Wince
-
Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen (Coach)
Complexity are currently in Europe to compete in the Funspark ULTI 2021 Finals, where they are set to face Gambit in their opening match.
