Old Guys Club bring in Pollo, SEMPHIS; Jonji moves onto a new Quest
As the last MDL team to complete a fully paid up roster, Old Guys Club has brought in two players and allowed one to move on. Before now, Old Guys Club only had three players fully paid up for the season as of January 14th.
The new additions were announced through Twitter before their opening match last night where former Envy duo, albeit not at the same time, Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen and Matt "Pollo" Wilson were slated to link up with Samuel "SileNt" Portillo and Sean "seang@res" Gares for the remainder of the season. The new additions helped the team secure a 16-14 win against Stay Frosty on Nuke.
The fifth player from last night's win, Jonathan "Jonji" Carey, departed the team not too long after the game. His destination saw the Canadian drop down a division to join The Quest, a squad headed up by Matthew "mCe" Elmore. He slots into the place left behind by Ian "motm" Hardy, who left last week in order to join up with Singularity. Jonji's move was announced on his Twitter in a humorous fashion.
Jonji's departure still means Old Guys Club have five paid up members, with Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert featuring on the ESEA roster. With n0thing being a member of compLexity's roster for the upcoming IEM Katowice Major, iBUYPOWER Masters and ELEAGUE Invitational tournaments, Old Guys Club will most likely need to find a replacement for the next two months.
These moves leave the Old Guys Club roster as follows:
- Sean "seang@res" Gares
- Samuel "SileNt" Portillo
- Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert
- Matt "Pollo" Wilson
- Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen
- Mohamad "mOE" Assad (Coach)
The Quest's roster is also as follows:
- Matthew "mCe" Elmore
- Logan "Voltage" Long
- Jack "xCeeD" Holiman
- Trevor "FrostayK" Bandle
- Jonathan "Jonji" Carey
- Zyrus "Osodank" Bechstein (Coach)
Old Guys Club's next match in ESEA MDL Season 30 is yet to be scheduled. The Quest's first match in ESEA Advanced Season 30 is scheduled for January 22nd at 8 PM EST.
