boltz set to miss out at iBUYPOWER Masters; Luminosity consider changes
Ricardo "boltz" Prass is set to miss out on the upcoming iBUYPOWER Masters 2019 tournament due to visa issues. Luminosity's recent addition will be replaced by Fillipe "pancc" Martins of W7M at the event.
The change was announced by the team's coach Rafael "zakk" Fernandes on Twitter, asking fans to support the youngster at his first big event. pancc has been playing for W7M since the end of March last year, seeing his team to the Americas Minor South America closed qualifier, where they finished 5th-6th after losing to Isurus.
Luminosity's roster for iBUYPOWER Masters 2019 will be:
- Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato
- Lucas "steel" Lopes
- Henrique "HEN1" Teles
- Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles
- Fillipe "pancc" Martins (Stand-in)
- Rafael "zakk" Fernandes (Coach)
The two-day iBUYPOWER Masters 2019 will begin on January 19th, where Luminosity will play against Liquid on the first day.
This isn't Luminosity's only news regarding their roster. January 13th saw Draft5 report that the Luminosity team is set to break up just one month after adding boltz to the active roster. The report states this will be due to the twins, Henrique "HEN1" Teles and Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles, looking to reunite with former teammate Lincoln "fnx" Lau in a new project.
fnx was reported to join Luminosity to replace Gabriel "NEXIZ" Schenato back in December, just after boltz had joined the team from MIBR after a period on the sidelines. This new report indicates the twins' wish to play with fnx, with the two potentially considering a move away from the org to do so. However, HEN1 has denied wanting to leave Luminosity, stating that he has a renewed wish to play CS:GO, and that he is crazy about it.
Luminosity failed to reach the Major, so they have a sizable amount of time to consider potential roster moves over the next few months.
