Noah Whinston cedes Immortals CEO role to Ari Segal; moves to executive chairman
Immortals founder and CEO Noah Whinston has chosen to step down from his role, instead choosing to become executive chairman while conceding his former position to Immortals' COO, Ari Segal, according to a report by Ben Fischer of Sports Business Daily.
Peter Levin, an Immortals board member, said that it was always the intention of the company to make this change, and that Ari Segal was hired with the intention of eventually making him the new CEO.
Noah Whinston has been the CEO of Immortals since founding the esports organization in 2015, fielding teams in multiple titles including Overwatch, CS:GO, and League of Legends. More recently, he helped to revive the MIBR brand alongside Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen and Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo.
MIBR are set to compete in BLAST Pro Series Lisbon this weekend with Braxton "swag" Pierce, and are also reportedly seeking to restructure their roster around a full Brazilian lineup.
