Bravado cruise to WESG 2018 berth over eNergy squads
Bravado have managed to top the WESG 2018 South Africa qualifier without dropping a map. The event was completed over two short bursts, with a break in between where the team emerged onto the international radar with a strong showing at DreamHack Open Winter.
After churning through the early rounds of the bracket without incident, Bravado found themselves facing off against eNergy Academy in the semi-finals. The eNergy boys put up a surprisingly good fight, being able to take the DreamHack Open Winter runners-up to double digits on both maps, but they could not overcome the firepower of Ruan "ELUSIVE" Van Wyk and Rhys "FADEY" Armstrong.
This meant that Bravado were through to the final, the victor of which would book their tickets to China early next year. Their opponents were none other than eNergy's main squad, featuring Robby "bLacKpoisoN" Da Loca.
Perhaps a promotion for the organization's Academy team is in order, as Bravado made even shorter work of the eNergy, not allowing them to reach double digits on either of the two maps played. This time around, it was Dimitri "Detrony" Hadjipaschali putting up the big numbers in the Bravado camp.
Bravado now join Singularity and the Ghost mix as teams teams playing from North American that are set to be in attendance at the Chinese event next year. The South Africans will look to match or improve upon their previous showings at the event, having placed 13-16th on both previous attempts.
