Luminosity disassemble eUnited in Atlanta; proceed to playoffs
Following the swift elimination of Fragsters by Vitality in the Group B elimination match, Group A's decider match kicked off, with eUnited rematching against Luminosity, who they had previously beaten in their opening match.
The first map of Inferno sparked a fire in Luminosity, who quickly seized the map in the first half, going up 10-3 with Lucas "steel" Lopes at the helm, before eUnited scrapped together the last two rounds to take a 5-10 scoreline at halftime. Taking two more rounds, eUnited were struck again by Luminosity, who took six five straight rounds to reach match point. eUnited were only able to pull two more rounds out before the Brazilian team closed the map 16-9.
eUnited took some pressure off their shoulders on Mirage, finding three rounds off the bat. Luminosity quickly turned the tides, taking control of the map and taking the lead, rounding out a 9-6 scoreline at the end of the half. Kaleb "moose" Jayne's squad nearly evened the scoreline, swiping the first two rounds of the second map. Their advanced were soon halted by Henrique "HEN1" Teles, who crushed the North American squad, winning his team the second map 16-9 and taking the series 2-0.
eUnited have been eliminated from DreamHack Open Atlanta, with Luminosity moving on to the event's playoffs stage. In the playoffs, Luminosity are set to take on Ghost in the semifinals tomorrow at 1:00 PM EST.
