Swole Patrol set to play with Cooper- at WESG USA LAN
Dust2.us has learned that the roster Swole Patrol will be fielding at the upcoming WESG USA LAN will include previous member Austin "Cooper-" Abadir. This is due to the tournament enforcing roster locks.
The reason why Cooper- has to compete with the team on this occasion is because of Rule 6 in the WESG USA rulebook, and when you ignore mentions of the Canadian tournament, it clearly states that "Rosters may not be changed after the start of the Online Playoffs." Swole Patrol had also not signed up with a substitute in the roster from the online qualifier.
Cooper- left Swole Patrol after accepting a contract offer from eUnited around the time of EPICENTER. They have since been using Brandon "-Ace" Winn, on loan from eUnited, in place of the AWPer. The transfer proved to be heated, with Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir criticising his brother's timing in a very public fashion.
This means the Swole Patrol roster for the WESG 2018 USA LAN will be:
- Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir
- Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro
- Braxton "swag" Pierce
- Leonardo "Laski" Arroyo (stand-in)
- Austin "Cooper" Abadir (stand-in)
Swole Patrol will be facing Singularity, Vireo.pro and Spacestation at the $38,000 LAN Finals, held at the Ultimate Media Ventures Studio in Huntington Beach, California. The event is set to take place between November 9th-11th, with the top team heading to the WESG 2018 Finals in Chongqing, China.
