NRG win cs_summit 3
NRG have been crowned the champions of cs_summit 3, after defeating OpTic in the Grand Final 3-1.
The day started with OpTic taking on BIG, and the Green Wall began Nuke with a furious offense, leading 12-3 at the half. From there, they matter-of-factly were able to take the map over the line.
Dust2 was a more back and forth affair, with BIG having the advantage at the conclusion of the first half, 9-6. However, OpTic and René "cajunb" Borg again showed their mastery of the Terrorist side, with the Germans only being able to stop the Danes twice, seeing the map finish 16-11 in OpTic's favor.
This set the stage for the Best of 5 Grand Final between NRG and OpTic, with NRG beginning with a one map advantage due to coming from the upper bracket. The series started with OpTic again going to Nuke, and though NRG put up more of a fight than BIG, the Danes still managed to squeak the map over the line.
The next two maps, Overpass and Mirage, were all NRG, however, with eventual event MVP Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte dropping 30 on the Danish side on the latter map to seal up the victory for NRG.
The final standings for cs_summit 3 are:
1. NRG - $63,750
2. OpTic - $33,750
3. BIG - $19,500
4. compLexity - $15,000
5-6. Heroic - $5,250
5-6. Ghost - $5,250
7-8. G2 - $3,750
7-8. Kinguin - $3,750
Next up for NRG will be finishing up their ESL Pro League campaign, with their final matches set to come against Renegades and Cloud9. They are currently sat in fifth in the standings, and splitting the remaining tilts should see them through to the season finals.
