INTZ defeat FURIA for PLG Grand Slam spot
INTZ have taken the final of the PLG Grand Slam North America over their countrymen FURIA, 2-1.
The series began on Mirage, where FURIA bounced back from losing the opening pistol to be in control the entire match.
Overpass was a more back and forth affair, with the teams trading rounds and neither able to string too many rounds together. Ultimately, it was the Pro League side who narrowly emerged victorious.
With momentum gained from tying the series, INTZ really put their feet to the gas, running over FURIA to the tune of 16-6. A driving force in their earlier matches in the qualifier, Rinaldo "ableJ" Moda Junior was largely not a factor for FURIA throughout the series.
The result means that INTZ will head to Abu Dhabi for the PLG Grand Slam in December. Since the team will be participating in the IEM Katowice South America Closed Qualifier, they do not face the schedule conflict that FURIA would have had they emerged victorious.
INTZ's final two matches for ESL Pro League Season 8 will come against Rogue. The team are currently sitting at sixth in the standings, but may yet be overtaken by surges from eUnited, compLexity, or Cloud9.
Following the conclusion of the season, the team will presumably head to Brazil to participate in the IEM Katowice South America Closed Qualifier, to which they have been invited.
