MIBR handed OpTic's vacant ESL Pro League slot
ESL have announced that Brazilian/American team MIBR have been granted the ESL Pro League spot that was recently vacated by OpTic's move to Europe. Up until now, MIBR had been outside of the league system due to their previous organization, SK, holding the license for the league.
ESL's decision to grant MIBR a place in the Pro League was made up of two reasons. The first being that the roster consists of former Pro League players, from SK and Cloud9, and the second due to the fact they are "one of the best teams in the world."
This still leaves the issue around SK's spot in the league up in the air, with the German-based organization still to announce a new lineup to take the place. They will have until September 27rd to disclose this to ESL, as this will be the end of the WESA transfer window.
The current teams in the ESL Pro League are as follows:
Cloud9 | Ghost |
Liquid | Luminosity |
NRG | Renegades |
Rogue | SK |
eUnited | boxr |
compLexity | MIBR |
Season 8 of the ESL Pro League is set to commence on October 2nd, with the online portion running until November 14th, where the top six North American teams will be headed to the global finals in Odense, Denmark.
