MIBR sent packing by Astralis
Over in Stockholm, there were still two remaining North American players taking part thanks to MIBR. They were up against Astralis, earlier than most would have liked due to the Danish team's second place finish in their group. The two teams had vetoed to play on Overpass, Train and Inferno.
Overpass began the match, and it was a traditional display of the Astralis show. Although MIBR started their T-side off strong, taking a force buy round off of the Danish team, they were eventually turned over by the current best team in the world as they went for a 10-5 half time lead. The second half wasn't any better for the majority Brazilian side, only winning one round as Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander's team eased to victory.
Train was a much closer affair, with both Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and Tarik "tarik" Celik impressing for their team. MIBR came out of the blocks fast, taking the first five rounds of the game to stamp their place on the map. But Astralis were, erm, Astralis and wrestled some control back in the rest of the half, going in narrowly behind at 8-7. The second half was equally as close, with the two teams changing control of the lead for the first part of it, before the Danish team took match point and came close to the win. tarik tried his best to keep his team in, but Astralis eventually proved too strong and closed the series out.
This means MIBR are eliminated from DreamHack Masters Stockholm in 5-8th place, ahead of Ghost and NRG, who finished in 9-12th and 13-16th respectively. This leaves just European teams remaining in the Swedish capital.
MIBR's next event will be the FACEIT London Major, where they'll enter at the Legends Stage. American members tarik and Jake "Stewie2k" Yip will be looking to claim a second Major championship after their victory in Boston earlier this year.
