ESEA announces MDL Next Big Caster challenge for Season 29
ESEA has announced the return of its "Next Big Caster" challenge, an initiative that debuted in Season 27 and was subsequently skipped in Season 28 due to the lack of a Global Challenge LAN for that season.
The challenge will allow selected candidates to stream and cast MDL matches on their own personal channels during phase one. In phase two, ESEA will select their favorite casters to cover matches on the official ESEA Twitch channel. At the end of the season, ESEA will open a public poll, with the community deciding their favorite caster, who will be flown out to the Global Challenge event for the season.
The winner of Season 27's Next Big Caster challenge was Roy "StrongLegs" Ahad, who was recently banned for a year by ESEA and cut from their MDL coverage team after being accused of gambling violations by the league.
Signups are currently available and more information can be found on ESEA's official blog post. MDL Season 29 is set to begin on September 10th, with this season featuring a Global Challenge event and a spot in EPL.
