Registration for WESG US and Canada qualifiers is open
WorldGaming have opened registration for both the WESG USA and WESG Canada qualifiers. As in previous years, the event will feature both co-ed and female events. The winners of each region will go on to represent their respective country in Shanghai in March 2019.
Both regions will have different schedules and prize pools for the qualifiers with Canada's online qualifiers happening first. Online Qualifier A will happen on September 15th, with Online Qualifier B happening on the 22nd. The winners of each qualifier will automatically proceed to the Canadian Finals. The Online Playoffs will consist of the next four teams across both qualifiers, ranked by points, and take place on October 6th. ESEA Advanced team and Fragadelphia attendees Grizzlys have already signed up for the event.
The prizepool for the Canadian Finals looks as follows:
- 1st Place - $15,000 & qualify for the WESG Grand Finals
- 2nd Place - $7,000
- 3rd/4th Place - $2,500

The US qualifiers will overlap the Canadian qualifier with Online Qualifier A happening on September 22nd, and Online Qualifier B will take place on October 2nd. The winners of each qualifier will move onto the US Finals. The US Online Playoffs will follow the same pattern as their Canadian counterpart, and take place on October 20th. MDL semi-finalists Gorilla Gang have already signed up to participate.
The prizepool for the US Finals are as follows:
- 1st Place - $20,000 & qualify for the WESG Grand Finals
- 2nd Place - $10,000
- 3rd/4th Place - $4,000

The Regional Finals for both the US and Canada will be held at EGLX 2018 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on October 26th-28th. Both Online Qualifier A and B victors will attend, as well as the two winners of each region's Online Playoffs.
